2023 Azimut Grande 27M

COMPASS is an 88-foot Italian motor yacht that combines the styling and performance of an Azimut with the accommodations and entertaining spaces of a much larger yacht. Her five-stateroom layout includes a private, main-deck owner’s suite, while her flybridge, aft deck and beach area give family and guests several places to enjoy time on the water.

Built by Azimut Yachts in 2023, COMPASS features an exterior by Stefano Righini and an interior by Achille Salvagni. She is currently offered for sale in Miami Beach, Florida, with an asking price of $7,950,000. 

Design and construction

The Grande 27M has a distinctive profile, with sweeping lines, large windows and a raised pilothouse. The yacht is built with fiberglass and carbon-fiber components. Azimut uses carbon fiber in the superstructure to help keep weight down while providing generous interior and exterior living areas.

Inside, Salvagni’s contemporary design uses flowing shapes and natural light to create an open, welcoming atmosphere. COMPASS’s interior features wood flooring, bronze accents, a custom stone dining table and furnishings from Poltrona Frau and B&B Italia. 

Main deck

The main deck is arranged for an easy flow between outdoor and indoor living. The sheltered aft deck provides a comfortable setting for dining and entertaining outdoors, with direct access to the main salon.

Inside, the salon offers seating for relaxation and conversation, surrounded by large windows that bring in natural light and views of the water. The formal dining area is forward of the lounge, creating a setting for meals with family and guests.

The galley is positioned to serve the dining and guest areas, while the raised pilothouse provides a dedicated operating position for the captain. 

Accommodations

COMPASS accommodates up to ten guests in five staterooms. Her main-deck owner’s suite provides privacy and the advantage of being on the same level as the salon and dining areas. It features large windows, an extra-size bed and a desk or vanity.

Four additional guest staterooms are located on the lower deck. The published listing describes them as a VIP, a double and two twin cabins, making the arrangement well suited to families or groups of friends. The Grande 27M also offers separate accommodations for crew. 

Flybridge and outdoor living

The flybridge adds a substantial outdoor living area with elevated views. COMPASS is equipped with a bar topped in Neolith Calacatta, a Kenyon grill, sunbeds and a hardtop with a sliding soft top. It is a natural gathering place for lunch at anchor, afternoon sunbathing or an evening with friends.

At the stern, the yacht’s garage and tender-launch system open to a beach area at the water’s edge. Azimut’s pivoting platform design provides space for enjoying the water and assists with launching the tender. 

Performance and equipment

COMPASS is powered by twin MAN V12-1900 diesel engines, each producing 1,900 horsepower, for a combined 3,800 horsepower. Azimut quotes a cruising speed of up to 24 knots and a maximum speed of up to 28 knots for the model under specified test conditions. Actual performance will depend on loading, hull condition, weather and sea state.
